Description
15 Minute One-On-One Session with literary agent Aram Fox
Aram Fox is an agent at Massie & McQuilkin, where he represents adult fiction and nonfiction. Aram is looking for novelists – literary and commercial – who put immersive storytelling front and center. Regardless of genre, what gets Aram’s attention is a writer who brings authentic emotional consequences to their fiction. In nonfiction, he’s a ferocious advocate for deeply reported narrative nonfiction and singular memoir, including eye-opening writing about culture, politics, science, history and natural history. Aram recently sold debut novels to Bloomsbury, Avid Reader Press/Simon & Schuster and Pamela Dorman Books/Penguin Random House, and he’s currently developing nonfiction projects with activist-oriented journalists, an alarm-ringing scientist, and historians who are using 20th century history to tell us something urgent about our 21st century world.
Aram began his career in film and tv before moving to one of the major publishing houses. At age 26, he launched a book scouting agency where he represented U.S. film/tv companies and international publishers, guiding them to option and acquire a Who’s Who of future prize-winners and bestsellers including Brit Bennett, Emma Cline, Hernan Diaz, Anthony Doerr, Angela Duckworth, Lena Dunham, Honorée Fanonne Jeffers, Peter Godfrey-Smith, Alex Honnold, Patrick Radden Keefe, Timothy Snyder, Jeff VanderMeer and Michelle Zauner among many others.
In 2023, Aram moved to Massie & McQuilkin and the literary agent’s side of the table. Massie & McQuilkin represent a spectacular group of prize-winning and bestselling novelists, journalists, academics and social critics. From fiction writers like Jesmyn Ward, Tom Perrotta, Kelly Link, Jonathan Escoffery, Lydia Millet and Anthony Veasna So to serious reporting, criticism, history and memoir by Roxane Gay, Jacob Soll, Natasha Trethewey, Vincent Bevins, Jing Tsu and Victor Luckerson among many, many others.
